SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Soo Eagles have announced that defenceman Michael Starzomski has committed to attend Sault College and skate for their men’s hockey program, who compete out of the Division II Independent conference of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Set to turn 19 in mid-May, Starzomski will play for his hometown Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Cougars side.

The physical stay-at-home type blueliner has appeared in 76 NOJHL contests over two seasons with the Eagles.

He has three goals and 13 assists over that span for 16 points, along with incurring 125 penalty minutes.

“We’re sure that Starzomski will be an asset to a very good and dedicated hockey program and school,” offered Eagles general manager Bruno Bragagnolo.

The Cougars finished fifth in ACHA D-II divisional play with a solid 22-5-0-0 record before falling to Drury University in the quarter-final of the Central Regional event in Grand Rapids, Mich.
