Thunderbirds and Trappers still in CJHL Top 20

Thunderbirds and Trappers still in CJHL Top 20

SUDBURY -- Each week the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings are announced and the latest listings announced Tuesday saw both the Soo Thunderbirds and North Bay Trappers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League recognized.

The rankings produced by the CJHL, in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting, sees the Thunderbirds rated No. 17 overall while the Trappers are behind in the No. 18 slot.

The two sides currently share top spot in the NOJHL standings with 62 points apiece with North Bay holding one game in hand on rival Sault Ste. Marie.

There was no change once again among the top three clubs in the CJHL rankings again this week with the Brooks Bandits (AJHL), Minnesota Wilderness (SIJHL) and Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) coming in at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 respectively.

The following are the CJHL Top 20 teams, as of Feb. 19, listing their overall ranking, their position last week, as well as the league they are a member of.

The CJHL Top 20 weekly rankings are based upon a variety of factors, including the league in which the team plays, winning percentage, win-loss record, and total points accumulated along with goals-for versus goals-against ratio, etc.

The CJHL is an amalgamation of 10 Jr. A hockey leagues across Canada.
